No Dues (B.Tech.-M.Tech. Dual/M. Tech.) as of June 2015(suggest changes in comments)
1)
Apply for No Dues online at DOAA website (www.iitk.ac.in/doaa) few days before
thesis submission
2) Surrender Health Booklet and ID Card(will be punched and given back) to ID Cell(near CC) to clear your dues against ID Cell in online no dues.

3)
Thesis Submission (Ask your supervisor to first review your thesis)
a.
Finalize your thesis defense committee with your
supervisor
b.
Fill up the form of “List of Suggested Examiners
for M.Tech. Thesis” (http://www.iitk.ac.in/doaa/DOAA/spgcforms.htm)
c.
Get it signed by your thesis supervisor, DPGC
and HOD
d.
Get 4-5 thesis certificates signed by your
supervisor depending on the number of examiners
e.
Take X number of printouts of your final thesis.
(X=Number of Examiners)
f.
Submit the above copies along with the list of
examiners form in the DOAA office (Note: Do not bind these copies as they
should be soft bound. Take X folders from ShopC and put them into these folders
with signed certificate)
g.
Take the Rs
750 form from DOAA office which reimburses your cost of thesis print out
and get it signed by your supervisor and HOD before submitting it back to DOAA
office.
4)
Take the No Dues form from your respective
department office and get it signed by people in-charge listed on it from your
labs/offices.
a.
Only for CSE People(See Below)
b.
Clear your space and get department no dues form
signed by concerned authority(Now, Brajesh Mishra Sir)
c.
CSE office will sign the final row only of no
dues form only after your defense. So wait till then.
5)
Clear your Hall Dues. It includes payment of
Mess Bill, Canteen Bill, Room Charges(if any) and clearance from all the Hall
Secretaries. Ask hall office to do a no dues clearance online.
6)
Go to DOSA office and ask for no dues clearance
of SC/ST Book Bank, Gymkhana Row and
SBF.
7)
Clear all other dues in your online form (Most of the
students will have no dues in all other rows by now)
8)
After Thesis Defense
a.
Ensure that your “Report of M.Tech./M. Des
Thesis/DIIT Project Oral Examination” has reached DOAA office on time.
b.
Submit a copy(soft/hard) to your department
library and thesis guide and get No Dues signed by department librarian as well
as guide(online)
c.
Submit your lab keys to the CSE office and get
the offline form signed by them(Only for
CSE)
d.
Submit your offline department no dues form in
your department office and ask them to clear no dues online
e.
Ask DOAA office (Mr. Sarkar) to update defense
date online.
f.
Take a scan of your thesis certificate and
attach it in your thesis pdf(Note: It should contain DOAA office stamp and your
supervisor’s signature)
g.
Submit a soft copy of thesis on library thesis
submission portal (http://172.28.64.70:8080/jspui/password-login)
h.
Visit PK Kelkar Library and ask them to clear
your dues (You may have some pending debit from Library. In that case, you need
to visit Accounts Section to submit the money and then give the receipt to
library)
i.
Once you have no dues in every row of your
online form, submit it and go to DOAA office.
j.
The concerned authority in DOAA office will give
you 4-5 printouts of stamped No Dues form. They will keep 1 copy with themselves
i. If
you need a Provisional Degree, submit a Rs 200 receipt from Accounts section to
DOAA office.
ii. If
you have completed no dues formalities before the convocation, you have to pay
Rs 1000/- if you are not attending convocation
and Rs 1100/- if you are attending, to Registrar, IIT Kanpur(through
Draft/Cheque/Online)
k.
Submit a copy of no dues to your department
office(Note: This is necessary for getting your last stipend)
l.
Submit a no dues copy to DOSA office. Fill up
the form for refund of caution money.
m.
Submit the last no dues copy to Alumni Office in
Outreach. Ask for your alumni card and other souvenirs if you have applied for
Permanent Membership (Rs 2000/- to be paid for that). Please do have a photo (soft
copy) of yours to create your online alumni profile before going to alumni
office.
